Column Management System
Excelendar's column management system is very robust and flexible, allowing for personalization without hiccups. You can rename columns by directly changing the value in the header cells, hide them and move them around without breaking any of the add-in's functionality. You can also add your own columns for any data you want to associate with events, and this data can be generated by formulas or pulled from other Worksheets.
Formulas
Excelendar's own columns can be driven by formulas too, for example an End Time worked out from a Duration column, or event titles and dates pulled from another sheet with formulas like =Bookings!C4. When a formula's result changes, Excelendar ticks that row's Update box automatically, even when the change was made on another sheet, so the next Export sends it to Outlook. Inserting, deleting or sorting rows and columns doesn't tick anything, as the results stay the same.
Imports never overwrite formulas: Import All and Import Changes skip any column that contains a formula, and the status message lists the columns kept. A field driven by a formula belongs to the sheet, so change it there rather than in Outlook.
Changes are detected while the add-in is running. If the source data changed elsewhere, for example in a linked workbook while this one was closed, tick Update on the affected rows before exporting. Functions that recalculate constantly, such as TODAY() or NOW(), tick their rows whenever Excel recalculates.
If there is an event property that you would like to edit, but doesn't appear in the sheet as a column upon importing, you can add it by ticking its corresponding checkbox in the add-in Settings, and re-importing the calendar.
